Sheila's Psalm

Sheila Adnett

Oh Father, Abba, forgive me for I have sinned
I have omitted to do thy will
I have been slow in pronouncing your goodness
My thanks I raise to you in Holy praise.

With gladness I greet each morning
Your manifold goodness is there for me to see
All praise and honour I lift to you
In song, in word and prayer.

For without the knowledge of you being there
This world would have no purpose
I would go my own unhappy way
Without the promise of your care.

For me, yes me, - you know my name
You know each hair upon my head
For it was from your dear Father you came
And your sheep you have duly lead.

Thank you Father for sending your Son
My sins from me to take
Thank you Father for being there
Each night and at daybreak.
