At St Mary's, we feel blessed to have a group of gifted people, who each week, bring together their various musical gifts to lead the congregation in worship. We have a mix of musicians (playing piano, guitar, organ, flute, clarinet and saxaphone) as well as many singers. We vary in our ability, but bring what we have, to learn from each other and to encourage each other, in order to bring the best we can to our leadership of the musical worship. We meet most Thursday evenings, in church, between 7.30pm and 9pm, to practise for the following Sunday services. When we are preparing to sing new pieces, for special services, such as Christmas, Easter or Harvest, the evening becomes longer but we do try to finish by 9.30pm. Everyone, who has a contribution to make, is welcome, regardless of age or talent. We work hard, have fun and enjoy a great sense of fulfilment, as we join together in using our gifts to enhance our congregation's worship and to praise God together.
