St. Mary's is truly an all-age community.

We have a thriving fellowship of those in retirement age - not that there's any 'retirement' at St. Mary’s. Our older people are amongst the most active in the church, and we delight in the contribution which so many make to many areas of our work.

Whether you're a member of the church, or just want to join us for a meal, you're hugely welcome at St. Mary's.

Tuesday Lunch Club (TLC)

Open to anyone who would like to meet up for a light two-course lunch, some fun, laughter and chatter with friends old and new. TLC meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except January) between 12.30–2.00pm at St. Mary's (suggested contribution £2). For more details contact Sheila Adnett.

Singing for Fun

This welcoming group offers a fun afternoon of singing familiar songs, friendly repartee, tea and biscuits. The group meets every Thursday afternoon, 2–4pm at St. Mary's. At Christian festivals the afternoon includes a short informal service. For more information contact Sandy Chapman.

Once A Year

Senior Citizens Tea Party

This annual occasion is for older citizens in our community to come together during the long winter months for an afternoon tea party and some light entertainment.

Community Memorial Service

Our annual service of thanksgiving and remembrance for all those who have suffered loss. A gentle, reflective service providing an an opportunity to light a candle in memory of loved ones. Tea and cakes are served afterwards and the opportunity to talk to clergy and members of the visiting and prayer ministry teams. The service is open to all and usually on Remembrance Sunday.

Visiting Team

We visit people in hospital or in their homes, maybe as they recover from illnesses or those who are housebound. We offer a sensitive listening ear. All members of the team have undergone training, are also DBS (police) checked and are actively aware of the need for appropriate confidentiality.
